Visiting Savannah

Savannah, Georgia is known as the hostess city, bursting with charm, and known as one of the world’s friendliest cities. A coastal city with a history stretching back to its founding in 1733 by General James Oglethorpe, Savannah’s story is intertwined with conflict. Established as buffer zone between Spanish Florida and British South Carolina, Savannah was assaulted, conquered, and assaulted again by both the British and the Americans during the American Revolution, inflicted violence and conflict on enslaved African Americans through the Trans-Atlantic slave trade, and crumbled under blockades and Sherman’s march to the sea during the American Civil War.

Present day Savannah’s Historic District is a National Historic Landmark, one of the largest in the country, and it is surrounded by affordable venues for lodging for all budgets. Dining options range from cafés and coffee shops to restaurants with James Beard Award winning chefs.

Savannah has an international airport with regular connecting flights to Atlanta, Miami, Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia; taxi and shuttle services provide convenient access to the hotels in the city center.

The venue is a central conference hotel located in the historic district, within walking distance of transport, coffee shops, food, and entertainment. This location minimizes the need for international attendees to require car rental or Uber services.
